Senator Barack Obama’s discussion yesterday on issues of language displayed a shocking combination of ignorance and arrogance. He begins by criticizing those who want to pass “English only” legislation, which is a pejorative term for making English our official language – a position supported by 85 percent of Americans. Making English our official language would do nothing to inhibit our children from learning a second language; it would only make English the official language of government. The “English only” charge is a straw man.

Over at the Wall Street Journal, Mary Anastasia O’Grady drops a bombshell about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi  and her relationship with notorious left-wing Colombian Senator Piedad Cordoba and the FARC terrorists in Colombia. 

Windfall Rush?

Americans everywhere owe special thanks to the Colombian armed forces and Colombian President Alvaro Uribe for the stunning and audacious rescue of 15 hostages, three of them American, held by the FARC terrorist group.  It was like something from a Hollywood movie.

The Washington Post today weighs in with the usual liberal double talk on the Supreme Court’s alarmingly close 5-4 ruling on the D.C. hand gun case.  Says the Post:
