In a Los Angeles Times article this morning, David Savage describes a recent case by the Supreme Court that has the potential of making it easier for children to get their hands on tobacco and other drugs. The case revolves around individual states being able to require shippers such as UPS and FedEx to check identification upon delivery of controlled substances such as cigarettes and alcohol which can be purchased online. While the Supreme Court justices indicated during oral arguments that they were in favor of lifting these state requirements, doing so would enable minors to bypass restrictions they would face if attempting to purchase these products at their neighborhood gas stations. Lawyers attempting to keep restrictions in place stated that lifting these controls would affect “the delivery of a myriad of other dangerous products, including explosives, liquor, drugs, poisonous reptiles and wild animals…"
In Iraq, the AP reports that more than 6,000 Sunni residents have joined a security pact with U.S. forces, in what the U.S. calls the single-largest volunteer mobilization since the start of the conflict.
About 77,000 Iraqis nationwide, mostly Sunnis, have broken with the insurgents and joined U.S.-backed self-defense groups. The United States has credited the groups with a major role in the recent lull in violence in Iraq.

Minors should not be able to order anything online without their parents consent. They don't have credit cards. The idea that underpaid delivery people should be in the business of carding people for online orders is ridiculous. Are you sure this is a conservative website. You sound like bleeding hearted liberals to me.
How nice that we are making friends with Saddam's people. Perhaps if we just would have left the Sunnis in charge everybody would have been happier Everybody but Iran that is.

Actually, delivery people working for DHL, UPS, and Fedex are not underpaid. these guys make $50K+.
And there is no point disregarding any good news coming out of Iraq, just because you're against the war. The sooner this war is won, the sooner our troops come home. This "I told you so" approach is not helping anyone.

To stop NBC and its Un-American bias we need to stop watching NBC whenever possible to drive there ratings down. Also stop your local paper, this will be our other best way to stop the preverbial bias of our dishonest media.

If Freedom's Watch GENUINELY wants to get it's "Thank You ad to our Troops on NBC, it should just omit their web site address, as required by the NBC rules that everyone has to follow. It isn't fair or reasonable to expect a company to make exceptions to its rules that everyone else follows.

OK delivery drivers should not be forced to check ID"s if a kid beats the system that bad, I guess he really wants a smoke. The driver's do make $50,000 I can't tell you exactly where to find that but I know several ups dudes that do ok..... Next it is easy to tell you are a liberal when you say the only thing left to do is cut and run.... What do you think that all the crazy Islamic radicals have been up to the last 6 years??.... Thats right getting their asses kicked all over Iraq and Afghanistan, not having the time to set around and plot their next big attack on America

" Actually, delivery people working for DHL, UPS, and Fedex are not underpaid. these guys make $50K+."
I challenge you to show me where you got that information. This website says its about $20k:

But we already won. The Iraqi people have their democracy, and Saddam will never attack us with his WMD's. Getting the hell out is the only thing left.

I have a son CPT Jeremy Chiglo D-co 147th AHB Ballad,Iraq and it makes me furious to hear about NBC. My daughter and I personally bought every one from his unit a small christmas present. we recieved the run around from our post office in getting them to send these gifts. These men and women have made every sacrafice known to mankind so we can all be safe and not give up one minute of sacrifice. Keep up the good work and God Bless you all
